I think that daily limits on questions might slow down some of the fluff.
As for cheating the scores I don't believe this is so. With the multitude of questions and responses it has allowed for rapid points gains. I cheer them on.
Maybe questions that have become obsolete could be tagged not to show in the siblings panel. Like "when will the Iowa results come out". I've found questions I missed, that interest me in the siblings panel. If outdated questions were not there it leaves room for another question.
I'm not interested in the drug and sex questions. I'm sure there are some that are not interested in the questions I ask also.

I agree with Sam that there are some people who are just here to say dumb things or offend other people. Also it it just me or are some new users are cheating their scores ?? I mean there are some users who have been here for a week or so and they have well over 500 points.

I think the biggest problem with the coming of the new users is that fluther has downgraded itself from an intellectual place to ask questions to a site whose quality of questions is getting similar to Yahoo Answers

it's getting to the point where i think you guys should consider banning people who get more than X abuse flags. there are some really f***ing worthless questions and answers out there, and they make fluther less than what it really is.
