As you may know, last night we made the decision to ask a few users to leave the collective. This was a culmination of the continuing discussion we’ve been having on the quality and culture of Fluther as we grow. There were also incidents of artificial score inflation, which we viewed as cheating.

This decision was solely made by Ben, Erik and myself, and was unrelated to the number of flags that any of the users’ posts received from the community.

However, based on the appeals of two of those users, the consultation of the community, the fact that they were not warned previously, and the fact that our guidelines were not explicit, we have decided to invite those users back into collective.

We have updated our guidelines. Please take a look at them.

It should also be noted that creating a separate account for the purposes of score inflation is not tolerated.
